COURSE OBJECTIVE:

The Intro To Graphic Design Class is a single period class Introductory Graphic Art class offered in the sophomore year, that introduces students to the traditional visual media and skills that are used to produce graphic design and illustration projects and products for the advertising and publishing industry.

This course focuses on introducing the creative and technical aspects of Graphic Design through the use of industry based software Adobe Photoshop and InDesign.

This course will prepare students with the technical skills necessary to function in today’s digital workforce. It will also prepare them to take and pass the Adobe Certification Associate exam in Adobe Photoshop, to earn industry approved certification displaying knowledge of Adobe Photoshop. This is an requirement exam ALL students must take.

CLASS REQUIREMENTS:

Elementary
  1. A notebook (3-ring binder or spiral w/ pockets) and 2-pocket folder is required for this class. Several handouts will be given to be kept for reference.
  2. At least (2) pens and (2) #2 pencils are required for this class.
  3. Loose-leaf paper for certain homework assignments given in class.
